This policy explains what personal data Perú Comidas (perucomidas.com, the "Site") processes, what it is used for, who it is shared with and what rights you have. It is short because the Site collects very little data: it has no user accounts, sells no products and shows no advertising.

What data we process and why

  • Comments: if you leave a comment, we store the name you type, the text of the comment, the page where you left it and the date. We do not ask for your email address. Comments are published after moderation. To stop spam, we also store an encrypted code (hash) of your IP address, which does not reveal your IP, and we use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that you are not a robot.
  • Visitor statistics: we use Google Analytics 4 to find out which recipes and articles are read most and to improve the Site (pages viewed, approximate country, device type, how you arrived). In the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it is only activated if you accept in the cookie notice; in other countries it is on by default and you can decline it at any time.   • Emails you send us: if you write to [email protected], we use your address and message only to reply to you.
  • Technical server data: our hosting provider automatically processes technical data (such as IP address and browser) needed to serve the pages and protect the Site against attacks.

We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build profiles, and we do not sell or pass on data to third parties.

Legal basis

  • Comments and emails: your consent when you send them, and our legitimate interest in moderating the Site and preventing abuse.
  • Statistics: your consent where the law requires it (European Union, United Kingdom and Switzerland) and our legitimate interest in understanding how the Site is used in other countries, always with the option to decline.
  • Technical server data: our legitimate interest in keeping the Site working and secure.

Providers that process data on our behalf

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (United States): hosting of the Site, the comments database and Turnstile anti-spam verification.
  • Google LLC (United States): Google Analytics 4 and the YouTube videos embedded in the recipes (in privacy-enhanced mode, youtube-nocookie.com).
  • Resend (United States): sending the internal email alert when a new comment arrives for moderation.

These providers may process data outside your country; they do so with the safeguards required by applicable law (such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).

How long we keep data

  • Published comments: for as long as they are published on the Site, or until you ask us to delete them. Rejected comments and spam are deleted.
  • Statistics: according to Google Analytics 4's retention period (a maximum of 14 months for detailed data).
  • Emails: for as long as needed to deal with your request.

Your rights

You can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it (for example, one of your comments), object to or restrict its processing, and withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to [email protected]. For statistics, you can change your choice at any time from the cookie policy.

If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country: for example, the CNIL in France or Peru's National Authority for Personal Data Protection.

Security

We apply reasonable measures to protect data: an encrypted connection (HTTPS), password-protected access to comment moderation, and IP addresses stored only in encrypted form. No system is foolproof, but we work to reduce the risks.

If we change the way we process data, we will update this page and its last-updated date.
